EP: 17 Survival Is Not The Enemy, The #Sparked Life Podcast

Purpose Peep,

Have you heard statements that pit surviving against thriving?  Some sound like, “go from surviving to thriving.” I went so far in one of my tag lines to say, “end survival as a lifestyle to thrive in your life of purpose.”  During my exploration of yes/and strategies,  I heard the divide and could see another possibility.

Screenshot (549)Surviving and thriving are not at war with one another or at opposite ends of a spectrum.  We are wired to kick into survival mode when needed and to return to our homestate when the danger is no longer present.  The issue lies in staying in survival mode in a defensive posture, which can be problematic to thriving in life, which requires being open, vulnerable and available to our path to purpose journey and experiences.

I realized my desired outcome for myself and clients is not to end survival as a lifestyle but to transform survival as a lifestyle by letting it be just what it is–a temporary strategy.  We are all living through temporary survival strategies as our response to the COVID19 pandemic.  Life will shift as we live and heal through this experience.

I believe that as we co-create our new normal, what we learn and cultivate during this time will become the bedrock, the strong foundation, for what will come.  In this episode, let’s unlock and face our survival patterns of old and hold them up to the light of now and who we are becoming as Purpose Peeps.

EP 14 The #Sparked Life: Your Almosts

How are you doing?  This podcast is one of two “late posts.”  The beginning of the year was a doozy, or so I thought before the Coronavirus Pandemic!

This podcast was recorded on January 1, 2020 before challenges appeared to “jump me.”  You know, the pile on we experience from time to time, which is really the beginning of a Divine storm (spoiler alert).  Divine timing relates to a different clock that is connected to our purpose and destiny.  It’s when we try to put Divine storm events into the box of our understanding when our sparked life appears to be replaced by storm clouds!  Listen to episodes 14 and 15 of The #Sparked Life, and witness how life was preparing me for this time.  Purpose Peep, you may also review the events ending last year and beginning this year differently. Back to episode 14, Your Almosts… You know how we get into the doing zone when we see the light at the end of the tunnel, and we press our foot on the gas to soldier on?  First, we may hit a bump in the road, shake it off and keep going.  Then we may hit a speed bump, something that is definitely saying slow down.  Ultimately, there is a crash when our vehicle is halted and we have to accept that we were almost at the end of the tunnel, just before the finish line and we will not make it.

This episode of The #Sparked Life explores the gifts of our almosts and leads us to our powerful mantra, “Every experience in my sparked life counts and matters.”  It is one thing to believe that all things are working for our good and it is another to experience the many ways that truth plays out in our lives and builds a reservoir of faith to take us through the next level of truth experience and faith activation. Spark. Whether you are throwing off sparks, producing sparks or enthusiastically supporting the spark of another, just spark where you are.

Imagine the star going through its transformative process.  It started off as clouds of gas and dust.  And yet, it had an appointment with divine timing that would reveal the truth of its design.

We all have appointments with divine timing that reveal who we are.   And yet to keep that appointment requires us to take inspired action or the commitment and faith to spark where we are. 

Sparking where we are is not just about our divine appointments.  Our spark may be producing a spark in another.  When we move beyond our barriers to take a courageous step to spark before we know the full outcome, we encourage others to do the same. We lead by demonstration of what is possible.

Our spark may also be enthusiastically supporting the spark of another.  We do not know the journey to the spark but we can trust that there was a journey! Celebrate what you are witnessing and experiencing now and the often untold story behind the spark!

Today, spark where you are–throw off your own sparks, help produce another spark, or enthusiastically celebrate the sparks we are privileged to witness.
